Ingredients

For the Chicken Marinade
  • 1/3 cup Olive Oil
  • 1.5 tbsp Honey
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 2 tsp Minced Garlic
  • 1 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 0.5 tsp Sea Salt
  • 1 tsp Ground Black Pepper
  • 3 large Chicken Breasts (sliced in half)
For the Sandwich Assembly
  • 6 pieces Hamburger Buns
  • 6 slices Tomato
  • 1 cup Leaf Lettuce
  • 6 slices Cheese (Optional)
  • 6 tbsp Mayo

Method

Marinating the Chicken
  1. In a large bowl, combine olive oil, honey, lemon juice, minced garlic, chili powder, paprika, sea salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken breasts, ensuring they are well coated. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours) in the refrigerator.
Grilling the Chicken
  1. Heat your grill to medium-high. It should be hot enough to sear without burning.
  2. Place the marinated chicken on the grill. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Remove from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
Toasting the Buns
  1. While the chicken rests, place the hamburger buns on the grill for a minute or two until they are toasted to your liking.
Assembling the Sandwich
  1. Start with the bottom bun.
  2. Add a generous scoop of mayo, followed by grilled chicken breast slices.
  3. Fresh lettuce, and juicy tomato.
  4. If you like cheese, add a slice on top.
  5. Finally, crown your creation with the top half of the bun.
Serving
  1. Cut each sandwich in half and serve immediately while warm. Enjoy with a side of fries or a fresh salad for a complete meal!

Notes

Letting the chicken sit in the marinade infuses it with flavor. Feel free to swap out the veggies or condiments according to your preference. For best results, cook over high heat for grill marks.
