Method
 

Preparation
  1. Boil salted water in a large pot.
  2. Add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente.
  3. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
Making the Sauce
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil.
  2. Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Squeeze the juice of one lemon into the skillet, ensuring to zest it beforehand.
Combining Ingredients
  1. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss well to coat in the lemon-garlic mixture.
  2. Stir in freshly chopped basil and grated Parmesan cheese.
  3. If the mixture seems dry, gradually add reserved pasta water until desired creaminess is reached.
  4. Finish with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes, tossing everything together.
Serving
  1. Plate the pasta and garnish with extra basil and Parmesan before serving.

Notes

Don’t overcook the pasta; aim for al dente. Use fresh ingredients for maximum flavor, and remember that pasta water helps the sauce cling nicely.
