Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat a cast-iron skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
  2. Divide the ground beef into equally sized balls, about a tablespoon each.
Cooking
  1. Place a ball of beef on the hot skillet and smash it down with a spatula until it’s about 1/4 inch thick. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Let it cook without moving it for about 3 minutes until a crust forms. Flip it and add cheese on top, allowing it to melt.
  3. While the burgers are cooking, warm the tortillas in a separate skillet for about 30 seconds on each side.
Assembly
  1. Place the smashed burger on a tortilla and top with your favorite toppings.
  2. Serve warm, and enjoy these delicious Smash Burger Tacos with friends and family!

Notes

For the best crust, don’t overcrowd the pan. Cook one or two burgers at a time. You can make the tacos ahead of time and reheat them for a quick meal.
