  • 1 cup Greek yogurt Opt for full-fat for creaminess.
  • 1 medium cucumber, grated and drained Drained to prevent sogginess.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Adjust the amount based on taste.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper
  • to taste fresh dill or mint (optional) Use for added freshness.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Grate the cucumber and squeeze excess moisture using a clean kitchen towel.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine Greek yogurt, drained cucumber, minced garlic, olive oil, and vinegar.
  3. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  4. Finely chop the fresh dill or mint and mix into the sauce.
  5. Let tzatziki chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to meld flavors.
  6. Serve and enjoy with your favorite dishes or warm pita bread.

Notes

Tzatziki sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days. Stir before serving if it becomes watery. Experiment with different herbs and adjust the garlic level to your preference.
